Giro d’Italia with Pavarotti (5): Modena cathedral & recital

The Giro d’Italia moved further on today, but we have decided we’ll have to stay on even a day or two longer in the town of  Modena as the cyclists of the Giro pedals away in the most beautiful country in the world! The reason for staying in the lovely Italian town of Modena is of course it’s the home town of the great Pavarotti, and because of this there’s so much to talk about!

The first of today’s Modena related Pavarotti videos is Pavarotti singing “Panis Angelicus” by César Franck together with his father Fernando Pavarotti in Modena in 1978, probably in the Modena cathedral, the same church were Pavarotti’s funeral were held in 2007.

The second video is Pavarotti singing the beautiful aria “Che Farò Senza Euridice” from the opera “Orfeo ed Euridice” by Christoph Willibald Gluck in a recital in 1985. This video isn’t well documented, but I’m sure it’s from Modena as I believe I’ve seen this clip on a DVD with the title “The Modena Recital” some time back.
