Pavarotti as the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto

One of Pavarotti’s most famous roles was the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto  by Verdi.

One of the best Rigoletto recordings ever and the best that Pavarotti ever made is the one he did together with the soprano Joan Sutherland and her conductor husband Richard Bonynge in 1971.

This recording is still available on Decca CDs, download and streaming, and is of course highly recommended.
