One of Pavarotti’s signature roles was as the painter Mario Cavaradossi in Puccini‘s opera Tosca. In fact, this was the last role Pavarotti sang on the operatic stage.
One of the dramatic and vocal highlights of the opera is the scene in act II when Cavaradossi shouts out “Vittoria! Vittoria!” (Victory! Victory!).
Here are six examples with Pavarotti spanning the years between 1978 and 2004. All except one are live recordings. Some videos also contain the entire scene.
So here we go: Pavarotti shows us what he is made of when shouting out “Vittoria! Vittoria!” at the top of his lungs.
